Welcome to the homepage for Peter Nejsum!
I am a Post doc at the Faculty of Life Sciences, University of Copenhagen, Denmark.
I am working at Department of Veterinary Disease Biology and section for Genetics and Bioinformatics (this link is only in Danish).
My field of interest is the effect of the genetics on host-parasite interaction with focus on the roundworm (Ascaris) and whipworm (Trichuris) in the pig (for further information - see Research areas)
Right now…
....Congratulation to Per Skallerup with the Young Scientist Award!
....We have now identified a QTL associated with suseptibility to Ascaris infection level in pigs - read here
....Review on the zoonotic potential of Ascaris and Trichuris here
....See me on TV here
....The Ascaris suum (roundworm) genome has been published - link here
....The Trichuris transcriptome has been published - link here
....Is T. suis a zoonosis??? It seems so........Why is it so hard to get rid of Trichuris infections? Our PhD student, Tina Alstrup is working on that.
